The story of ‘Big Al’ By Natalya

In Wyoming’s Museum of the Rockies, there is an infamous allosaurus fossil known as ‘Big Al’. 95% of Big Al’s bones were found in 1991. Big Al is known to be the most complete allosaurus fossil found. Nineteen bones were found that showed signs of infection or were broken when Al was alive. It is believed the infections were the contribution to Big Al’s death. Big Al was also infamously known to have his own documentary in BBC’s “Walking With Dinosaurs” series called “Ballad of Big Al.” which depicted Al’s life from hatching and depending on his mother along with his siblings to learning to hunt and living solitaire and overcoming deadly battles and competitions to his final moments. Big Al still stands today (as a fossilized skeleton) in the University of Wyoming and Museum of the Rockies. Would you dare to pay him a visit?
