On Sunday, February 2nd 2025, we woke up to Groundhog Day. Groundhog Day is when we are met with a groundhog who predicts when the glimpses of winter will end. At about 6:30am I was waiting on the weather channel on TV, and there was a live event somewhere in Pennsylvania (I forgot which city it was) and the Groundhog predicted that we would have six more weeks of winter. The weather channel asked the Groundhog would he predict an extended winter or if we were going to have an early spring. I was really hoping that we should get an early spring because out of all seasons of the year, spring is my absolute favorite season. The reason why I love spring is because spring brings the perfect weather that is just night — 60 degrees or 65 degrees with sun and blue skies. I also enjoy hearing birds happily chirping and singling and beautiful flowers blooming and blossoming. I would have been really excited if the Groundhog predicted an early spring, but unfortunately, we have six more weeks of winter left. That means more unpleasant, chilly temperatures, more snowy weather in the forecast and still no leaves on the tree branches. But with Groundhog Day, you can take a little time to relax and enjoy the pleasure of being met with a groundhog! -Jacob
