Spending time looking through all of Brad’s art one by one, clear themes became apparent

I felt Brad’s art not only as an outcome of his natural creativity but as an important expression of his values.
I got a sense that there is a rhythmic repetition to Brads visual creations that keep him connected to core memories, feeling of love and security in the present and his sincere hopes for the future.
Even being a passionate advocate for visual creativity, it wasn’t until I sorted through and created Brad’s collection, collaborating with him, getting to know him more, having conversations and noticing his response to being the artist of the month, that I realized really how much there is a constant and powerful communication happening through visual art in the day program.
Much more of Brad has been going into his visual artwork than I realized. Aside from being clearly confident in the creative process and proud of his works, Brad has not verbalized a deeper meaning to his art, until now.
Brad has been expressing visually and quietly.
He has been telling stories of family, homes and upbringing, family, happiness, his concerns, self care, awareness and exploration.
Getting to know him through is art work tuned me in to a new level of understanding and relating to Brad and reinforced my own conviction of the invaluable insight visual art offers to therapeutic relationship and experience.
